crazy7, do not ever stop these drugs “cold turkey. abruptly stopping Klonopin can lead to irritability and even to seizures in some cases. should’ve been cut down to about 20% and keep the dose 4-5 days then cut another 20% to be affective for getting Klonopin out of your system. hopefully this was done.
tell your physician that you’re suffering with excruciating withfdrawals. if she, “won’t listen”, call around. no need to suffer substantiately. it makes anxiety worse.

I agree with you completely. I hate it when people about psychiatric drugs. If it makes people feel better, then what is it hurting? They obviously dont understand what it’s like to have crippling anxieties, or else they’d shut the up. I’d rather be dead than have to live with my anxiety forever.

btw, I start my day with 2mg, and it lasts to late afternoon (but if I’m in a strange, ’scarry’ situation, I take one more from the 05. pill). sometimes I’m spinnin all the time, when I’m on that 2mgs. and in the afternnon, when I take the next 0.5 pill, I’m a bit depressed for an hour, after that – spinnin again. Why is that?

Haha, like your way of thinking. I’ve been taking Clonazepam for 10 years now, from 0.5mg X 2 / day to 3 mg X 2 / day ( now reduced to 1mg ) but shit, I can’t go lower, and I always thought I was some wacko to have your way of thinking.

I’m in w/d, Klonopin don’t work forever. It is hard to come off of. Only thing I can say is good luck once you hit tolerance, which you will, don’t expect the Doctor to understand cause they won’t! She doesn’t say nothing about how hellish the w/d is.

If you run out your in trouble, but that’s a matter of not finding a reasonable doctor.

i’ve been taking clonazepam for a little over a year. I started off taking .5mg three times a day and now am taking 1mg three times a day. It definatly helps with anxiety and helps me function normally. Its considered a 4th mood stabilizer. The withdrawl from longterm use can be terrible, but I would rather take them, then be a nervous wreck and have to resort to illegal drugs

iv been on these for years. I take 1mg twice daily. But i notice if i take two to start my day im good for the whole day. I suffer from panic disorder/anxiety/social anxiety disorder. I really love my Klonopin. It is far more effective for my anxiety and insomnia, as it has a much longer half life than xanax.

The Benzo-Wise book will help anyone who uses this or other benzos long term and needs to come off. It is worth reading. Just be warned that benzos – especially those as potent as clonazepam – can have serious side effects and are highly addictive. Oh, and never stop taking a benzo cold-turkey as you may have seizures, psychosis and other dangerous reactions.

All people respond differently. I personally find Xanax a weaker benzo. Ativan and Klonopin have a lot of punch for my chemical makeup. The next guy might say. No, Klonopin is a sugar pill. I honestly have to say, after getting a shot of Valium for anxiety induced, tight chest muscles, Ativan shots are much better. Klonopin pills, way better.
